SFA Athletics Engaging Letterwinners Through Innovative Digital Platform

Stephen F. Austin (SFA) Athletics and the team at Athlete Network are proud to announce their partnership with the goal of engaging all former Lumberjacks with available services and resources. The partnership launches a branded digital platform to centralize, promote, and track the programs and services offered to their letterwinners.

SFA leads the way as the first Southland Conference program to select Athlete Network to power its customized network. After transitioning to the Western Athletic Conference in Fall 2022, SFA will join Tarleton State, Dixie StateUtah Valley, Southern Utah, and UTRGV as the sixth conference member to partner with Athlete Network. With the recent changes and challenges in college athletics due to COVID-19, offering a way to connect virtually has become a significant focus.

“We are excited about the opportunity to partner with Athlete Network and be able to utilize this innovative platform for our former letterwinners to connect and stay engaged.  Since our launch of the J Association, we have been committed to expanding upon and growing our ability to reconnect with our former Jacks and Ladyjacks, and this platform allows for some robust opportunities to rekindle the fire that they posses for SFA.  With increased connection and engagement from our former student-athletes, our current student-athletes will have more opportunities to learn about the experiences of those that came before them, and to know that they represent more than themselves.”
- Ryan Ivey, Director of Athletics

Along with expanding and modernizing career placement services, the technology solution will also immediately provide cutting edge data insights and reporting to athletic administrators as well as enhance the letterwinners club and offer a robust mentoring program for all generations of Lumberjacks athletes.

“One of the primary objectives of the J Association is to keep former student-athletes engaged with their teammates and involved with their programs. This platform will allow us to do just that. While we are entering a new era of SFA Athletics on the field, this partnership allows us to take a giant leap forward in how we engage and support SFA student-athletes beyond graduation.”
- Tyler Boone, Director of Athletic Development

"SFA has been great to work with as they are launching their new letterwinners club. From their AD to the coaches, there is a real passion to engage and build relationships with their former athletes. Through our Unite software, their team will not only increase visibility and engagement with all available resources, such as career opportunities, but also use data analytics to track utilization ensuring effective communication and engagement is maintained with their athletes for life."
- Brett Fuller, VP of Partnerships at Athlete Network

Welcome to the team, SFA! #raisetheaxe
